Peter
Johnstone, a third-generation Zimbabwean, started at Rosslyn
in 1967, the year he met Carole on a remote railway siding
in the Matetsi
area. In 1969 they were married and ran their first safari
ten days
later. It was the start of a long partnership that has
seen huge changes in the hunting industry and the wildlife
world generally,
and they feel privileged to have been through it all, despite
the
many ups and downs.
Peter’s depth and breadth
of knowledge have resulted from a lifelong passion for the
wild
and its
animals, and for hunting – ever
since his father took him hunting
in the bush as a youngster, and his days of extramural
hunting while
at Plumtree boarding school in a remote area of the country.
