2010 Rosslyn Safaris Newsletter No. 1
Lyn and myself attended the January SCI conventions in Dallas, Houston and Reno. We shared our booth with Ron Oliver of African Hunting safaris Inc., something I have done for many years and it has worked well for both of us.

The big story before the conventions was that there was no disposable income around and hunts better be discounted seriously. I am delighted to report that after the first three heavily discounted hunts, I realised I would not have enough operating funds, at those low low prices to operate the discounted hunts. I put a stop to it immediately. Low and behold, we are booked up pretty well, wall to wall with hunting, happily for us, at the full or very close to the full fair price as requested for each hunt.

We thank all our past clients, some of whom came to visit us at the show, as well as our 2010 hunters, who we look forward to welcoming to our paradise at Cawston Ranch and our future 2011 clients. We are very grateful for your support.

If you want to hunt 2010 do contact us as there may be a cancellation or a spot I can squeeze you in for a good hunt. 2011 is now open for booking.

To provide good hunting, pleasant enjoyable accommodation and good catering with a pleasant guide and staff, it costs money to provide quality and dependability, which is what I have done for 40 years. I also believe my prices are fair, considering the operating costs of not only camp and hunting staff, but also the 23 game scouts who protect the animals and the boundary. There are 11 waterholes to be pumped into and maintained. Then there is the qualified management of the whole operation with maintenance of vehicles and equipment. Well done by my ranch manager and his wife, Brian and Eileen Deacon.

This website has our proposed 2011 hunting prices. Rosslyn safaris invite you to book your hunt for 2011. We already have two hunters booked to hunt sable April 17th to the 30th 2011.

Our well loved and hardworking camp waiter Jaylani has been persuaded by his brother to go to Namibia and join him in a hotel as a waiter. We wish him well in his adventure. Laston, from the Kariba houseboats will take his place.

All the rest of our loyal and hardworking staff are still with us and look forward to welcoming you and serving you efficiently when you come.

GOOD HUNTING

Yours Sincerely
Peter Johnstone
